The Department of Physical Education and Sports organized the Annual Sports Prize Distribution Programme to felicitate all the sports achievers who brought laurels to the college during the academic year 2025–26. The programme aimed to recognize students who achieved significant milestones and represented the college at various prestigious sports competitions.
The programme started with the welcome of dignitaries, followed by the presentation of Glimpses of the Year, highlighting major sports achievements, participation records, and success stories of Kaveri College sportspersons.
Principal Dr. Mukta Karmarkar delivered the welcome address and appreciated the dedication, discipline, and commitment shown by the student athletes. The chief guests Mr.Krushna Bhandalkar and Shri Ravindra Shinganapurkar were formally welcomed and felicitated.
In addition to student achievements, the programme also recognized the contribution and sporting spirit of the teaching and non-teaching staff. The Staff Cricket Tournament Winners & Runners up Men’s Team and the Women’s Throwball Teams (Winners, Runners-up and Third Place) were felicitated with trophies and medals in recognition of their enthusiasm and active participation in promoting a healthy sports culture within the institution. This initiative reflected the college’s commitment towards encouraging sports participation not only among students but also among staff members.
The programme also took pride in felicitating the college alumni, Lt. Saee Sukale ,for her remarkable achievement and dedicated service, bringing honour to the institution. Her success story served as a source of inspiration for current students, demonstrating how discipline, dedication and sportsmanship can lead to excellence in professional life.
One of the highlights of the programme was the felicitation of the Best Sports Achievers of the Year through prestigious scholarships and sponsored awards. The college honoured elite performers with the following recognitions:
- Elite Sportsperson Scholarship – Rs. 15,000
- Emerging Sportsperson Award – Rs. 10,000
- Sports Excellence Award – Sponsored by Mr. Rohan Dattatreya More
- Most Outstanding Sportsman Award – Sponsored by Mr. Anand Vishnu Karmarkar
These awards were presented to students who demonstrated exceptional performance, consistency, leadership qualities, and brought recognition to the institution through their achievements.
The Guest of Honour Mr. Krushna Bhandalkar appreciated the college’s continuous efforts in developing quality sportspersons and encouraged students to pursue sports along with academics. The Chief Guest Shri Ravindra Shinganapurkar motivated students to maintain perseverance, hard work and focus to achieve excellence.
The Presidential Address by Mrs. Malati S. Kalmadi highlighted the importance of sports in character building and appreciated the contribution of the Physical Education Department in creating a strong sports culture.
The programme continued with the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where winners of various sports events were awarded medals, trophies, certificates and scholarships at the hands of the dignitaries. The achievements reflected the strong sporting tradition of Kaveri College.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Rohit Prakash Tambe, Director of Physical Education and Sports, who expressed gratitude to the management, guests, sponsors, staff and students. The event ended with a group photo session capturing the proud moments of achievement.
The Annual Sports Prize Distribution Programme 2025–26 was successfully conducted and proved to be a proud moment for Kaveri College. The felicitation of sports achievers and distribution of prestigious scholarships demonstrated the institution’s strong commitment towards nurturing sports talent and promoting excellence. The programme not only celebrated achievements but also inspired future champions and strengthened the vision of developing national level sportspersons from the institution.
