The NSS Unit of Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune, organized an Anti-Drug Awareness Programme along with an Oath Taking Ceremony on 22 April 2026 in the college campus. The initiative was conducted to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free educational environment.
An informative session was conducted by Mr. Nilesh Nemade, who addressed students on the physical, mental, and social consequences of drug addiction. He emphasized the importance of making informed life choices, maintaining self-discipline, and resisting peer pressure. His speech encouraged students to adopt a responsible and healthy lifestyle.
A major highlight of the programme was the Anti-Drug Oath Taking Ceremony, administered by the NSS Programme Officer. All students and NSS volunteers actively participated and solemnly pledged to stay away from drugs and intoxicating substances, spread awareness about their harmful effects, and contribute towards building a drug-free society. The enthusiastic participation reflected the students’ strong commitment to these values.
The programme witnessed active involvement from a large number of students, making the event impactful and successful. It effectively achieved its objectives of spreading awareness, educating students on preventive measures, and reinforcing positive behavioral values.
Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, and Vice Principal Dr. Anand G. Buddhikot, appreciated the volunteers for their dedication and enthusiasm, and encouraged them to continue their active participation in such initiatives. The programme was successfully conducted under the effective leadership and guidance of NSS Programme Officer Mr. Nilesh Nemade.
