The Kaveri Research Cell, Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, organized an Orientation Session on the Avishkar Research Competition on 20 July 2026 at the AV Room. Avishkar Orientation session aimed on how to identify research topics, develop innovative ideas, and participate in the Avishkar Research Convention.
The session was conducted by Dr. Madhuri Deshpande, who guided students on identifying real-life problems and transforming them into meaningful research ideas. The session highlighted the importance of research in addressing current societal challenges and encouraged students to develop innovative solutions with social impact.
The discussion covered various aspects of research, including research topic identification, survey-based research, data analysis, research publication, collaboration, research timelines, and the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in research. Students were also introduced to useful research tools and platforms such as IEEE Xplore, SCImago, Elicit, Connected Papers, and NotebookLM.
The session was highly informative and motivational, encouraging students to observe problems in their surroundings, think critically, develop original ideas, and actively participate in the Avishkar Research Competition. The programme successfully promoted a culture of research, innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving among students.
