The Environment, Social, and Governance Committee organized an Awareness Session on “Toxic Free Lifestyle” on 25 February 2026 in the AV Room, 6th Floor. The session aimed to raise students’ awareness of the harmful effects of chemical-based products used in everyday life and to promote environmentally responsible, sustainable living practices.
The session highlighted the growing environmental challenges caused by synthetic chemicals, plastics, and toxic substances present in common household and personal care products. Important issues such as pollution, microplastic contamination, and health risks caused by endocrine-disrupting chemicals were discussed to help students understand their long-term impact on both human health and the environment.
Traditional and sustainable alternatives such as Dant Manjan, Shikakai, and Ritha (Soapnut) were introduced as eco-friendly replacements for chemical products. A live demonstration on the preparation of Bio-Enzymes from kitchen waste and simple eco-friendly pesticides was conducted, providing practical exposure to natural cleaning and home-care solutions.
The session also encouraged students to adopt simple lifestyle changes such as using reusable containers, reading product labels carefully, reducing plastic usage, supporting naturally grown products, and practicing mindful consumption.
More than 50 students attended the session and actively participated by asking questions and engaging in discussions. The program was informative, interactive, and inspiring, motivating students to take small yet meaningful steps toward sustainable and toxin-free living.
