The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of our college celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from NSS volunteers, students, and faculty members. The programme was organized to create awareness about environmental conservation and to encourage sustainable practices among the community.
As part of the celebration, an Environment Awareness Drive was conducted at Pandurang Chowk, Pune. During the drive, NSS volunteers interacted with local residents and spread awareness about the importance of environmental protection, cleanliness, waste management, plastic-free living, and the conservation of natural resources. The volunteers encouraged citizens to adopt eco-friendly habits and contribute towards maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
To further promote environmental awareness, an Environmental Awareness Quiz was organized for students to enhance their knowledge of environmental issues and encourage responsible environmental practices
The celebration successfully conveyed the message of environmental responsibility and inspired participants to take positive steps towards protecting nature. The programme concluded with a renewed commitment from students and volunteers to work towards a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable future.
Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Principal, and NSS Programme Officer Mr. Nilesh Nemade congratulated all the NSS volunteers for their enthusiastic participation and appreciated their dedicated efforts in making the World Environment Day celebration a grand success.
