The NSS Unit of Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune successfully organized the celebration of “150 Glorious Years of Vande Mataram” on 14th November 2025 with the objective of creating awareness among students about the historical, cultural, and national significance of Vande Mataram, and of fostering the values of patriotism, unity, and national pride.
The programme commenced with the NSS prayer, followed by an introductory address by Vice Principal Dr.Anand Buddhikot, highlighting the origin and historical importance of Vande Mataram. NSS volunteers delivered brief speeches emphasizing the contribution of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay and the inspirational role of the national song in India’s freedom struggle.
This was followed by the collective singing of “Vande Mataram”, in which NSS volunteers, students, and faculty members participated enthusiastically. The campus resonated with patriotic fervour, creating an atmosphere of unity and national spirit. Volunteers also shared their reflections on the relevance of Vande Mataram in contemporary India.
A large number of NSS volunteers, students, and staff members actively participated in the programme, and their disciplined and wholehearted involvement ensured its success. The celebration of “Vande Mataram Day” proved to be meaningful and impactful, as it effectively fulfilled its objectives by educating students about the glorious freedom struggle and inspiring them to uphold the ideals of patriotism, unity, and national pride.
