Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune, proudly organized a felicitation ceremony on 4th February 2026 to honour its distinguished alumnus Mr. Punit Joshi on the occasion of his election as Corporator, Ward No. 29, Pune Municipal Corporation. The program was conducted in the AV Room in the presence of management members, faculty, students, staff and invitees.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome of the dignitaries. As a mark of respect and honour, Mr. Punit Joshi was thoughtfully felicitated with a Pratikruti of Ashok Stambh, symbolizing integrity, leadership, and commitment to public service.
Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Principal of the college, shared her heartfelt memories of Mr. Punit Joshi as a student. She fondly recalled his active participation, leadership qualities, and commitment during his college days. She expressed immense pride in his achievements and appreciated his dedication to public service.
Mrs. Malati S. Kalmadi, Secretary of the institution, congratulated Mr. Joshi and remarked that the college does not wish to limit its association to felicitation alone. She proposed that Ward No. 29 could be developed as an “Experimental Lab”. She emphasized that such collaboration would create a meaningful bridge between academics and real-life governance, benefitting both the ward and the institution.
In his response to the felicitation, Mr. Punit Joshi expressed deep gratitude towards the college management and faculty. He shared that his political journey began near the premises of the college itself and that the institution played a significant role in shaping his personality and leadership skills. He appreciated the college’s continued support and welcomed suggestions and active participation in the developmental work of his ward.
He further outlined his vision and working style for Ward No. 29, highlighting his plans for community development, citizen participation, improved infrastructure, and transparent governance. He assured that he would work with integrity and dedication for the progress of the ward and the welfare of its residents. The event concluded with a vote of thanks.
