A field visit to Kaveri Gifted Education and Research Center, Prabhat Road, Pune, was organized by the Department of Arts on Tuesday, 23rd December 2025,with the objective of helping students understand the identification and nurturing of gifted children through specialized educational and psychological practices, encouraging critical thinking through real-world applications of psychology, and exposing students to diverse career pathways in the field.
During the session, Dr. Devasena Desai, Associate Director of Kaveri Counselling, Empowerment and Gifted Center, and Ms. Tejashree Kandalgaonkar, Facilitator and Counsellor, addressed the students and explained the philosophy and functioning of the organization. They highlighted the belief that gifted children have the potential to become changemakers and emphasized the need for differentiated approaches in education, counselling, and research. The speakers elaborated on the identification techniques, nurturing programs, curriculum differentiation, use of the Kosha model, research initiatives, and counselling support provided to gifted children, parents, and educators.
The interaction led to a lively and engaging discussion, with students expressing keen interest and appreciation for the practical insights gained during the visit. In all 40 students participated in the visit.
