The Department of BBAIB, Kaveri College of Arts, Science & Commerce, successfully organised HR EVOLVE 3.0 – Think HR, Think Future, an academic–industry interface event aimed at preparing students for the evolving world of Human Resource Management.
The event was inaugurated at the hands of Dr. Narayan Hegde, Honourable Vice President, Kannada Sangha Pune, in the presence of Mrs. Devika Shetty, Honourable Trustee, Kannada Sangha. The inauguration set the tone for a day of insightful learning and industry engagement.
The Chief Guest, Mr. S. Anantha Rama Krishnan, Senior General Manager – Human Resources, Tata AutoComp Systems, delivered the keynote address and conducted the masterclass on the Transition from HR 1.0 to HR 3.0. Emphasising the irreplaceable role of human beings in organisations, he highlighted that while technology enables efficiency, human values, judgement, and empathy remain central to leadership and people management. He also spoke about how learning must evolve from fundamentals to application and eventually to leadership insight in today’s complex and strategic business environment.
Mrs. Soniya Kumbhojkar, Coordinator BBA-IB and Event Coordinator of HR EVOLVE 3.0, highlighted that the event was conceptualized to provide students with holistic exposure, practical skills, and industry readiness, in line with contemporary HR practices.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Principal of the college, emphasised the importance of bridging academic learning with industry expectations and commended the department for designing a future-oriented initiative. Dr. Anand Buddhikot, Vice Principal, and Mrs. Chitra Alavani, IQAC Head, were also present, lending their support to the programme
The event featured a Resume Makeover Studio using AI tools, conducted by Dr. Bhooshan Kelkar along with his doctoral scholars in Artificial Intelligence, which equipped students with practical skills to enhance employability.
A highly engaging Panel Discussion on “Gen Z in the Workplace: Hype, Hope or Hard Reality?” was also organised, with eminent panelists Mr. Piyush Mahamuni, Manager –Human Resources- Master Card,Dr. Pooja Upadhyay-Associate Professor- AISSMS, Ms. Neha Deshmukh-OD&LD- Themax, and Ms. Manali Jadhav-Manger- HRM- IncubXpert Technologies shared diverse perspectives on generational expectations, workplace realities, and organisational challenges.
A key highlight and USP of HR EVOLVE 3.0 was the presence of Live Internship Opportunities, offering students real-time exposure to career opportunities. Companies such as Social Labs, Podium Systems, C Tech Engineering, and Sales Lead participated, providing students with experiential learning and direct industry interaction.
The programme also included a Personal Pitch session titled “Introduce Yourself Effectively”, conducted with the objective of enhancing students’ self-presentation, confidence, and professional communication skills.
The event witnessed active participation from students and academicians across several institutions, including AISSMS Institute of Management, Garware College of Commerce, DES Pune University, Ness Wadia College of Commerce, and SP College Pune, strengthening inter-college academic collaboration.
The event received a tremendous response from students and faculty alike and stood out as a meaningful step towards strengthening academia–industry collaboration and preparing students for the future of work.
