The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce organized an online session on “Start-up Legal and Ethical Steps” on 30th April 2026, at 11:00 AM in online mode, for students interested in entrepreneurship and business management. The session aimed to provide awareness about legal procedures, ethical responsibilities, registrations, taxation, and compliance required for starting and managing a successful business.
The session was conducted by Mr. Rohan Pathak,Marketing and Operations Head, Toxeta Innovation Pvt. Ltd., Pune who shared valuable industry knowledge and explained the importance of legal approvals, ethical business practices, taxation systems, and organizational compliance in modern start-ups.
The main objective of the session was to educate students about the legal requirements involved in starting a business and to create awareness regarding ethical business practices. The session also aimed to explain the importance of registrations, taxation, and compliance in business operations. Furthermore, it guided students in understanding how to build legally compliant, professional, and trustworthy organizations for long-term business success.
Mr. Pathak explained the importance of legal protection and proper licensing for businesses. He discussed registrations such as GST, TAN, and industry-specific licenses like the Electrical Contracting License. He emphasized that proper compliance helps businesses avoid legal issues and build professional credibility.
The speaker highlighted the role of ethical business practices such as honesty, transparency, quality service, and fair dealings with customers. He explained that trust and professionalism are essential for long-term business success.
The session also covered different business structures such as Private Limited Company, Proprietorship, and Partnership Firm, along with the importance of maintaining legal documents, financial records, billing systems, and compliance reports.
Mr. Pathak further discussed the importance of certifications like MSEB Certificates for technical businesses and stressed the need for organized financial management and tax compliance for sustainable growth.

The session on “Start-up Legal and Ethical Steps” was highly informative and beneficial for students aspiring to become entrepreneurs. Mr. Rohan Pathak effectively explained the importance of legal compliance, ethical practices, and professional management in building a successful and sustainable business. Mrs. Sujat Bachhav compered the session and proposed vote of thanks. More than 40 Students participated in the session.
