The NSS unit of Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune had organized a tree plantation drive in association with Forest Department, Pune, on 12th and 19th August at Nagari Van Udayan, Hingane.
Total 120 NSS volunteers had participated in this event. The volunteers performed the activities like digging of the pits, planting of the trees, watering them, cutting the grass and cleaning the area around the plants etc. They also collected the plastic and other waste material from the area and disposed these off. They planted 200 saplings which included Palm, Peepal, Bamboo, Banyan tree etc and other ornamental plants.
This event was carried out under the guidance of the NSS Programme Officer Mr. Sachin Deokate and in the presence of the Student Development Officer Mr. Anand Buddhikot, and Assistant Programme Officer – NSS, Nilesh Nemade, Mr. Rohit Tambe( Director –Physical Education), Ms. Mugdha Shivapurkar, Ms. Gitanjali More and Ms. Ashwini Kale.
