The NSS Unit of Kaveri College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Pune, organized a Nirmalya Collection Drive from 14th to 25th September 2026 during the Ganesh Festival.
The initiative was conducted across Potnis Parisar, Mitra Mandal, and Popular Giridhar Nagar, Warje, Pune, to promote responsible disposal of flowers, garlands, leaves, and other organic offerings.
Student volunteers carried out daily collection activities and door-to-door awareness campaigns, encouraging residents to segregate Nirmalya from regular household waste. The collected organic waste was deposited in designated Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Nirmalya bins for further processing and composting.
The drive helped prevent water pollution, maintain cleanliness, and spread environmental awareness. It also provided students with valuable hands-on experience in community engagement, teamwork, and social responsibility, reflecting the NSS motto “Not Me, But You.”
Through this initiative, Kaveri College reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible community participation.
