The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune, observed World Eye Donation Day 2026 with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of eye donation and encouraging students to contribute towards the noble cause of restoring vision to the visually impaired.
To mark the occasion, the NSS Unit organized an Eye Donation Awareness Poster Competition and an Eye Donation Awareness Quiz for students and NSS volunteers. The activities were conducted under the theme “Donate Eyes – Give the Gift of Sight.”
The Poster Competition provided students with an opportunity to express their creativity and understanding of eye donation through informative and impactful posters. Participants highlighted the significance of eye donation, the need to eliminate misconceptions, and the positive impact of donating eyes after death. In all 10 students actively participated in the Poster Competition
An Eye Donation Awareness Quiz was also conducted to enhance participants’ knowledge about eye donation, corneal transplantation, and the procedures involved in eye donation. The quiz helped students understand the importance of eye donation and inspired them to spread awareness within society.
The programme successfully conveyed the message that eye donation is a precious gift that can transform lives by restoring vision. Through these activities, students developed a greater sense of social responsibility and humanitarian values.
