The ESG Committee of Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune organized a Poster Presentation Competition and Best Out of Waste Competition to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices among students. The objective of the event was to encourage students to think creatively about environmental protection and sustainability while highlighting the importance of the 3R’s – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
A total of 14 students participated in the Poster Presentation Competition. The participants prepared creative posters on the given environmental themes and presented their ideas through a short oral presentation. The posters reflected students’ awareness about issues such as plastic pollution, climate change, and responsible use of natural resources.
Along with this, 7 students participated in the Best Out of Waste Competition. Participants showcased innovative items created using discarded materials such as newspapers, plastic bottles, cartons, and old clothes. The competition encouraged students to transform waste materials into useful and decorative products, demonstrating creativity, innovation, and practical utility.
Dr. Deepa Sathe, Coordinator, Department of Commerce, was invited as the judge for the competition. She evaluated the entries and appreciated the creativity and efforts displayed by the participants. The First Prize in the Best Out of Waste Competition was awarded to Sanskar Marne from SYBBACA for his innovative product, a Key Holder made from waste materials. The Second Prize was awarded to Pratiksha Choudhari for creating a Cloth Bag using a reused T-shirt,
The entries were judged based on creativity, innovation, aesthetic appeal, utility, and effective use of waste materials.The event was successfully conducted under the guidance of Dr. Mukta Karmarkar, Principal, and Mrs. Chaithra Uchil, Head of the ESG Committee.
Overall, the competitions were engaging and educational, inspiring students to adopt environmentally responsible practices and contribute towards a cleaner and greener planet.
