The Startup and Innovation Cell had organized a Guest Lecture on: Startups & Innovation in the New-Age EV Industry under “SPPU Startup Talk Series-Conversations with Young Entrepreneurs”
Resource Person Ms. Arathi K. Parigi provided students with insights into the rapidly evolving electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem. The session highlighted emerging trends, startup opportunities, technological advancements, and the future roadmap of electric mobility in India and globally. The lecture emphasized how innovation-driven startups are transforming transportation through sustainability, clean energy adoption, and smart mobility solutions.
During the session, she shared valuable insights on the growth of startups in the EV ecosystem, innovation-driven business models in the new-age EV industry, challenges faced by emerging EV companies, opportunities for young engineers and entrepreneurs, and the future roadmap of electric mobility in India. Her industry expertise and practical experiences provided students with a deeper understanding of how startups can thrive in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle sector.
Some of the major innovations covered during the session included were advanced Lithium-ion and solid-state batteries, AI-powered battery management systems, Fast-charging technology, Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) systems, Smart mobility and connected EV platforms. The speaker emphasized that technological disruption is creating opportunities for young entrepreneurs with skills in engineering, AI, data science, and sustainability.
The lecture also addressed critical challenges such as high initial investment and capital requirements, battery supply chain constraints, infrastructure limitations, policy and regulatory uncertainties, consumer adoption barriers. Strategies for overcoming these challenges through innovation, partnerships, and policy support were discussed. Various government initiatives promoting EV adoption, subsidies, and startup incubation programs were highlighted. The importance of policy frameworks and public-private collaboration in strengthening the EV ecosystem was emphasized.
