The field visit to the Pune Book Festival was organized on 20th December 2025 under the guidance of Dr. Pooja Ambole (I/C, Department of Arts). Students of FY and SY participated in the visit. The purpose of this academic excursion was to provide students with meaningful exposure to literature, contemporary thought, and intellectual dialogue.
During the visit, students attended three highly enriching sessions by distinguished speakers. The first session was delivered by Kanishk Gupta on “Representing Indian Literature at the Global Stage: Literary Experts’ View”. He spoke about the growing international recognition of Indian writing and the role of literature in projecting India’s cultural and intellectual identity worldwide.
The second session, “From Grammy to Green Earth,” was presented by Ricky Kej, a Grammy Award–winning musician and environmental advocate. His talk highlighted how art and music can be used as powerful tools to promote environmental awareness and sustainability, inspiring students to think creatively about global responsibility.
The third session was conducted by Dr. S. Jaishankar on “From Diplomacy to Discourse” His address offered valuable insights into diplomacy, communication, and international relations, emphasizing the importance of informed dialogue in shaping national and global understanding.
In addition to attending these sessions, students explored the festival’s vibrant collection of books in various languages and genres. The wide range of literary works enriched their reading interests and broadened their cultural perspective.
Overall, the visit to the Pune Book Festival was a memorable and intellectually rewarding learning experience. It deepened the students’ appreciation for literature, global issues, and thoughtful discourse, making the visit both educational and inspiring.
