The NSS Unit of Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce actively participated in the “Durgotsav” initiative, organized in alignment with the vision of the Hon’ble Chief Minister. This activity aimed to honor the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and pay tribute to his twelve magnificent forts that have been recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The primary objective of this initiative was to promote awareness about Maharashtra’s glorious fort culture and highlight the historical and cultural significance of these symbols of valor and heritage. It was conducted from 15th to 25th October 2025.
As part of the activity, each NSS volunteer, along with their family members, created a replica of any one fort at their home—whether in the courtyard, garden, or residential area. The volunteers then captured a selfie with their fort model and shared it through the Amrut Sanstha’s digital platform, demonstrating their creativity, enthusiasm, and respect for the state’s proud heritage.
The activity received an overwhelming response from the volunteers, who participated with great zeal and artistic effort. Through this initiative, students gained deeper insight into the architectural brilliance and historical importance of the forts built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The event also instilled a sense of pride, patriotism, and unity among the participants, reinforcing their appreciation of Maharashtra’s rich cultural roots.
Principal, Dr. Muckta Karmarkar and Vice Principal Dr. Anand Buddhikot appreciated the sincere efforts of the students and the NSS team for their active involvement and successful execution of the programme. The event was conducted smoothly under the able guidance of NSS Programme Officer Mr. Nilesh Nemade.
