On the occasion of World Environment Week 2026, Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, under the ESG Committee, organized an educational visit to the Central Water and Power Research Station (CWPRS), Khadakwasla, Pune, on 14 June 2026 during its 110th Foundation Day – Open House Day.
The visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to advanced research and testing facilities in the field of water resources and hydraulic engineering. During the visit, students explored various physical and hydraulic models, including the Mumbai Port Model, Yamuna River Model, Magdechu Reservoir Flushing Model, and Kalpasar Model. They also visited specialized facilities such as the Ingress Protection Laboratory, Hydraulic Machinery Laboratory, and Current Meter Rating Trolley Facility.
Through interactive demonstrations and expert guidance, students learned about the role of hydraulic modeling, water resource management, and engineering research in addressing real-world challenges related to water conservation, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure development. The visit enhanced students’ understanding of sustainable water management practices and highlighted the significant contributions of CWPRS towards national development through scientific research and innovation. Overall, the visit proved to be highly informative and enriching, providing students with practical knowledge and valuable insights beyond classroom learning.
The students were accompanied by Ms. Chaithra Uchil, Head, ESG Committee, and Mrs. Sheetal Kulkarni, Member, ESG Committee, who guided and encouraged the students throughout the visit, ensuring a meaningful and engaging learning experience.
