Women’s Forum of Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune in association with Board of Student’s Development SPPU organised a workshop on Saksham Nari Surakshit Nari under Nirbhay Kanya Yojana. The workshop was based on the holistic empowerment of girl students, focusing on their physical health, mental strength, personality development, and personal safety. The workshop had 3 resource persons with a strong background in their respective fields.The workshop began with Deep Prajwalan, Vidyapeeth Geet and the welcome address given by Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Principal Kaveri College. An insightful introduction of the workshop was given by Dr. Deepa Sathe, Student Development Officer. The first resource person Mr. Mohak Barve was felicitated by Dr. Muckta Karmarkar Principal and the second Mrs. Dhanashree Ghate was felicitated by Mrs. Bhakti Joshirao Chairperson of Women’s Forum Committee and the third Mr.Anup Dattatray Doiphode was felicitated by Dr.Deepa Sathe Student Development Officer.
Session 1-Lathi Kathi Prashikhsan Shibir
The first session focused on physical empowerment and self-defense techniques through traditional Indian martial arts. Mr. Mohak Barve, a national-level martial artist and experienced trainer, conducted a hands-on practical session on Lathi–Kathi Prashikshan.
Participants were introduced to basic self-defense postures, movements, and techniques aimed at building confidence, agility, and personal safety awareness. The session effectively highlighted the relevance of traditional martial arts in contemporary self-protection and was received with great enthusiasm by the girls.
Session 2- EmpowerU: Personality Transformation Session
The second session emphasized personality development, mental resilience, and self-awareness. Mrs. Dhanashree Ghate, with over two decades of experience in teaching, counseling, and mentoring. The second session on Personality Transformation focused on the concept of self-empowerment, and its practical application in real-life situations. The session highlighted factors that hinder self-empowerment and emphasized the importance of self-awareness and a positive mindset shift. It also underscored how internal empowerment translates into purposeful action, enabling personal growth and self-confidence
Session 3- NutriLife – Eat Smart, Live Well
The third session addressed health, nutrition, and fitness awareness. Mr. Anup Doiphode, a national-level boxer and certified fitness trainer, provided valuable guidance on balanced nutrition, healthy lifestyle habits, and physical fitness for overall well-being.
The session highlighted the importance of smart eating, regular exercise, and maintaining physical and mental health, especially for young women. Practical tips and real-life examples made the session engaging and informative.
The workshop concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Mrs. Bhakti Joshirao, Chairperson, Women’s Forum, expressing gratitude to the resource persons, dignitaries, organizers, and participants for their active involvement and support.
Overall, the workshop proved to be highly effective and impactful, successfully addressing the physical, mental, and emotional dimensions of women’s empowerment. The enthusiastic participation of students reflected the relevance and success of the programme in fostering confidence, awareness, and self-reliance among young women.
