Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce actively participated in the Youth Convention organized at Ramakrishna Math Mission, Pune. NSS Volunteers participated in large numbers for the Youth Convention Program at Ramakrishna Math held on 11 September,2023. Commemorating the 125th anniversary of the Ramakrishna Mission, they celebrated the Concluding Ceremony of the First Batch of the Vivekananda Study Circle on the occasion with great enthusiasm.
Dr. Sharad Kunte, Chairman – Deccan Education Society, Pune was the chief guest for this program. Students got special guidance from Swami Srikantananda, President – Ramakrishna Math, Pune, Dr. Shirish Limaye former professor, Symbiosis College, Pune, and Mr.Prashant Puppal, Industrialist. The youth convention was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. Sharad Kunte. While addressing the students, Dr. Sharad Kunte enlightened the students on the vision of Swami Vivekananda and the important issues of Youth and nation. He also inspired the students to be of a good character.
Swami Srikantananda in his speech gave insights about some of the qualities of Swami Vivekananda that students need to inculcate in themselves. Dr. Shirish Limaye in his speech highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s speech in Chicago. Swamiji introduced the concept of Vishwa Dharma at the Chicago Sarva Dharma Parishad. Swamiji’s fame spread in the western countries from this Chicago interfaith conference. He said that it was Swamiji who spread Hinduism and Indian Vedanta and philosophy far and wide in Western countries, hence this day is celebrated as “Vishwa Bandhutva Din”. He conveyed Swami Vivekananda’s message for the young generation.
Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal, Vice Principal Dr. Mukta Karmarkar and NSS Program Officer Prof. Nilesh Nemade motivated the students to participate in the youth convention and gain insights in themselves.
