The Kaveri Placements and Vocational Cell organized a 3-day Pre-Placement Training Program for final-year students at Kaveri College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Pune, from 11th to 13th December 2024. The program aimed at equipping students with essential skills, industry expectations, and career development strategies to help them succeed in their job search.
Day 01 – Wednesday, 11th December: Interview Preparation
The first session focused on Interview Preparation, with CMA Abhay Deodhar as the guest speaker. He provided insights into the necessary preparations students must undertake before interviews, emphasizing the importance of qualities and qualifications (2Qs) that interviewers look for. He also highlighted the critical aspects of preparing a well-crafted bio-data. The session included practical do’s and don’ts of interviews, drawn from his corporate experience. Over 100 students from various courses benefited from this session.
Day 02 – Thursday, 12th December: “Industry Expectations 5.0,”
The second day featured a session on “Industry Expectations 5.0” with Mrs. Vaijayanti Shewade, Vice President of Sales at B. U. Bhandari Volkswagen, as the guest speaker. She discussed the evolving industry expectations and emphasized the importance of skills such as salesmanship and marketing, which are essential across all sectors. Mrs. Shewade also shared her insights on work-life balance, career challenges, and the importance of a positive attitude. Her discussion on the growing participation of women in the workforce was particularly inspiring. The session encouraged students to consider careers in sales and marketing, noting the abundance of opportunities across disciplines. Mr. Rohit Khatri, Marketing Head at B. U. Bhandari Volkswagen, shared additional insights into the changing nature of industry expectations across various job roles. More than 100 students participated in the session, gaining valuable knowledge from the discussions and a motivational video on B. U. Bhandari’s journey.
Day 03 – Friday, 13th December: Work Ethics and Interview Preparation
On the third day of the pre-placement training program, Mr. Amol Munje led an interactive session on Work Ethics and Interview Preparation. He emphasized the importance of punctuality, accountability, professionalism, and consistency, while advising students to be honest and avoid procrastination and office politics. In the second part, Mr. Munje provided tips for interview preparation, including researching the company, practicing common questions, dressing professionally, and maintaining good body language and communication. The session ended with a Q&A, and students expressed high satisfaction, feeling more confident and prepared for interviews and professional environments.
Overall, more than 100 students benefited from this training.
