On January 25, 2025, the 15th National Voter’s Day was celebrated by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Department and the Student Development Board. The event was graced by the presence of Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Vice-Principal Dr. Anand Buddhikot, NSS Program Officer Prof. Nilesh Nemade, and other faculty members.
The day was celebrated to raise awareness about voting and to encourage greater participation in the electoral process. The theme for this year’s program was “There is nothing like voting, I will definitely vote. Vice-Principal Dr.Anand Buddhikot informed about the role and objectives of the Election Commission of India, stressing the importance of increasing voter registration, especially among the youth, and promoting active participation in elections.
Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar highlighted the significance of voting as a powerful tool for societal change and urged students to exercise their right to vote responsibly. To encourage students to participate, Dr.Anand Buddhikot administered the voter’s oath to all attendees. This event aimed to inspire students to register as voters and engage in the democratic process for the betterment of society.
Additionally, on the same day, our 16 volunteers participated in an event organized by the 210 Kothrud Assembly at the Swami Vivekananda Sabhagruha, MIT University, Kothrud.
