The Women’s Forum at Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune under Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) organised a Women Empowerment Workshop on 15th July 2025. The workshop had an impressive lineup of four speakers, each set to deliver a unique and enriching session. The Workshop began with lighting lamp, Vidyapeeth Geet and felicitation of the Resource Persons Dr. Shirisha Sathe and Dr. Mukta Bhosale, resource person for the pre-lunch sessions. The college under the SPPU Quality Improvement Programme had arranged three sessions as a part of the workshop.
Dr. Shirisha Sathe spoke on the topic महिलांची परिस्थितीजन्य निर्णयक्षमता. She started the proceedings with discussion of how students have to take decisions in every situation. She gave students suggestions as to how they can use the 5 second count rule to destress themselves and divert their mind. She also further added that students tend to look at the short-term benefit and tend to ignore the long-term benefits, by doing so they tend to end up in trouble. She also suggested students to focus on their health and well-being and should also take care of the nutrition and sleeping patterns. Towards the end of the session, she gave students the mantra of destressing during exam period by working on their breathing and sitting posture. A student named Gayatri further asked her question of how to study for long hours to which she replied a student has to read, repeat and recall the syllabus by making short range divisions of the chapters. The session struck a strong chord with the students and concluded with a standing ovation, signifying its profound impact.
The second session was by Dr. Mukta Bhosale, she spoke on the topic महिला हक्क संहिता विषयक नियम, कायदे, सुरक्षा. The session created awareness among girls about their legal rights. She educated them on the laws that protect them and provided practical knowledge about safety measures and support systems available to them. She briefed about laws and basic rights that the students should be aware of as everything nowadays is available to them on a click. She spoke about Domestic Violence Act, 2005, Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013 (POSH Act), Child Marriage Prohibition Act, 2006 and discussed the regulations of Marriage Act. Towards the end she also guided upon regarding the emergency numbers and Zero FIR.
After the first two sessions of the workshop participants were given a lunch break of an hour. Post lunch session on interaction with accomplished women was organised.
Third session began with felicitation of resource person CA Ruta Chitale and Mrs. Pooja Auti. The topic for session three was समाजातील कर्तृत्ववान महिलांशी सहसंवाद. An interview of CA Ruta Chitale and Mrs. Pooja Auti was conducted in the third session. Faculty member Mrs. Sonali Kadam and second year B.Com student Ms. Sarakshi Tarkase conducted the interview in the third session. Questions about their personal and professional life were asked to resource person. The personalities of both the resource persons were multifaceted. During the interview both of them suggested students to not be afraid in making mistakes but asked them to learn from those mistakes and take corrective steps. Mrs. Pooja Auti suggested the students to have confidence in themselves and listen to their inner voice. Both the resource persons had a positive impact on the minds of the listeners.
The workshop was attended by 113 students from various courses. Mrs. Sonali Kadam was the compere of the entire program while Mrs. Bhakti Joshirao, Chairperson Women’s Forum proposed the Vote of thanks for the Workshop.
