The Photography Committee organized a Career oriented Workshop titled ‘Shutter Stories: Essentials of Photography’ on the 13th of August 2025, with an aim to introduce participants to the foundational concepts and diverse genres of photography, equip them with skills to capture compelling images using any type of camera, and provide valuable insights into pursuing photography as a professional career.
The guest speaker for this session was our very own Alumni – Mr. Chinmay Morgaonkar, who is a Professional Commercial Photographer and a Visiting Faculty at Dr. Vishwanath Karad World Peace University – MIT.
Mr. Morgaonkar began by sharing his personal journey in the field of photography, which inspired the audience and highlighted the scope of the profession. He then proceeded to explain the fundamental principles such as framing, lighting, exposure, and composition, ensuring that even beginners could grasp the concepts with ease. The workshop also covered various genres including portrait, landscape, street, and product photography, supplemented with practical demonstrations. Students actively interacted during the Q&A segment, clarifying their doubts and seeking guidance on career opportunities in the creative domain. With highly enthusiastic participants in attendance, the workshop proved to be highly interactive, informative, and motivating. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to the speaker by our student Mr. Swaraj Tilekar for his valuable insights and to the organizing committee for successfully conducting an enriching and career-focused session.
