The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated on June 21, 2025. Kaveri College of Arts, Science, and Commerce, Pune, enthusiastically participated in both global and local initiatives that highlighted the spiritual and physical benefits of yoga.
On this occasion a special initiative titled “Bhakti Yoga” was organized for the pilgrims participating in the Pune to Pandharpur Wari (pilgrimage procession). NSS volunteers and faculty members enthusiastically participated in this activity. This event was jointly organized by the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra, Pune Municipal Corporation, Savitribai Phule Pune University, National Service Scheme (NSS), and the Student Development Board.
As part of the Palakhi procession of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj, cultural programs under the theme Bhakti Yoga were conducted with the participating pilgrims (Warkaris).
Principal Dr. Mukta Karmarkar, along with NSS volunteers, visited the Dindi at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Vidyamandir and contributed on behalf of the college to the Bhakti Yoga initiative. NSS volunteers from the college also visited various Dindis (pilgrim groups) in the Market Yard area of Pune, honored the Dindi leaders, and distributed shawls, caps, and food items to the pilgrims.
Further, faculty members and students conducted special yoga session for the warkaris from contributing to the cultural and spiritual enrichment of the Wari.
