NSS unit of Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce celebrated the 132nd Birth Anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on 14th April 2023 in the A.V.Room of the college.
Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal, Vice Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, NSS P.O. Mr. Nilesh Nemade, A.P.O. Mrs. Sujata Bachhav, Office Superintendent Mr. Ravindra Bhalerao, Speaker Dr. Mukta Bhosale and all the faculty members of the college were present for this programme. The program started by paying tribute to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
Vice Principal Dr. Mukta Karmarkar started her speech by paying tribute to the Father of Modern Economics, Father of The Indian Constitution and an Educationist Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. She highlighted the important contribution of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar in the formation and development of India and Indian Constitution. On this occasion, she told everyone about some important things related to the great knowledge of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was the first Indian to receive a Ph.D. degree in economics from abroad. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar had more than fifty thousand books in his personal library, and he specialized in 64 subjects. Dr. Ambedkar knew more than nine languages, which shows his passion for learning.
Dr. Mukta Bhosale gave information about the principles on which Dr. Babasaheb worked. She also said that he has contributed significantly to the establishment of the Reserve Bank of India, citing his expertise in building the Indian economy and giving the Indian rupee an important place in the world. He also made important substantive changes in some special concessions and some basic rights for women, including equal pay for work done by men and women. On this occasion, she made women aware of many laws and rights such as the right for maternity leave.
Mr. Ravindra Bhalerao saluted Gautam Buddha and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and presented the poem “From Darkness towards Light (Andharatun Prakashakade)”. The audience appreciated this poem. Ms. Tanvi Zurunge compered the program and proposed the vote of thanks.
