The NSS unit of Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce in association with Anugraha Foundation, Amod Lane No. 8, Shikshak Nagar, Paud Road, Pune organized Raksha Bandhan Celebration activity on 21st August 2024. The event was conducted based on this year’s theme “Rakhi for Nation”. The ‘Raksha Bandhan’ or ‘Rakhi’ is a special occasion to celebrate the virtuous bond of love between a brother and a sister which is one of the deepest and noblest of all human emotions.
In alignment with the theme, the NSS (National Service Scheme) Unit of the college organized a Raksha Bandhan celebration that extended its reach to the broader community. This year, the event focused on inclusivity and compassion by tying Rakhi to individuals who are blind or physically challenged.
Volunteers engaged with the students of the Anugraha Foundation by organizing a variety of enriching activities to celebrate Raksha Bandhan. The interactions included storytelling sessions, interactive games and musical performances. This unique celebration not only honored the traditional festival but also highlighted the college commitment to social responsibility.
Dr. Ashok Agrawal, Executive Director, Academic, Higher Education and Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Principal I/C of Kaveri College congratulated the students for their efforts. The campaign was conducted under the guidance of the NSS PO Mr. Nilesh Nemade. More than 15 NSS volunteers participated in this activity.
