Commerce Horizon Week 2024  

Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce conducted a Commerce Horizon Week 2024  from 17th to 20th January 2024. It was organized by the Department of Commerce. Chief Guest CMA Abhay Deodhar,Mentor and Guide inaugurated the event. Executive Director Academics (Higher Education) Dr. Ashok Agrawal and In charge Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar were present during the inauguration. They motivated the students to take part in the various events  in large numbers.  Coordinator Dr. Deepa Sathe and Dr. Pooja Ambole and the entire commerce faculty  put hard work in organizing the event. The main objective of Commerce Horizon is to give a platform and enhance the talent, skill and spirit in the students and to provide them with a professional platform on part of the college.

The Commerce Horizon began with the Research Paper Writing Competition on 17 January 2024 with a view to inculcating research aptitude in students.  Themes like ‘Marketing strategies in the Digital Age’, ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’,  Global Supply Chain Management, Economic Policies and Share Market, Dynamics and Innovation in Business Model etc were given.  15 students presented their research work with the help of a PPT. Students were judged by two esteemed judges- CA Suhrud Lele and Mr. Nakul Ponkshe. 

Mad-Ads Competition was another event conducted on 17 January 2024 with a view to inculcating creative marketing strategies among students. Students were asked to advertise a fictitious product like flying cars, truth speaking mirrors, etc. The advertisement was judged on its creativity and  marketability. Mrs. Amruta Bhide, Asst. Professor, Mandke College and Dr. Pooja Ambole, Coordinator, B.Com judged the competition. Total seven teams participated in the competition. 

An Inter-College Quiz Competition for Junior College students titled ‘ Kaun Banega Commerce Wizard’ was conducted on 18th January. It was conducted in online mode. More than 260 students participated in the competition The competition was organized with a view to provide students a platform to evaluate the knowledge within and beyond academics. 

An event called Biz- Quiz Challenge was conducted on 19 January 2024.  20  teams participated in the competition. The first round was named ‘Know Your Basics’ where participants were judged on domains like business, education, entertainment and sports. The ‘Imagine Link’ round consisted of audio-visual based questions. The third round consisted of a rapid fire segment. The teams were awarded points based on their answers. 

Pune Tithe Kay Une was organized on 19 January 2024. 18 teams  participated in the competition. The competition was organized with a view to explore the unorganized business sector of the economy. Students were tasked with identifying the street vendors of their choice and do a case study of their business model. They were then asked to prepare a vlog or PowerPoint Presentation based on that study.

Creative Writing Competition during the Commerce Horizon Week 2024 was organized  on 19 January 2024. The students opted the format of their choice for writing creatively. They wrote essays, blogs, articles, short stories and poems. The students were given various topics from domains like Economics, Education, Mythology, Business  English and Environment. 45 minutes were allotted to pen down the piece. 

The Business Fair was organized on 20 January 2024. Business Fair was  divided into- Food Fest  Kaveri Mela and Game Zone. 17 teams participated in the competition. 20 Stalls were allotted on a first come first served basis. Judging was done on the basis of Revenue generated, Marketing strategy, Hygiene & cleaning and innovative products by the stalls in the food fests and game zone respectively. 

The Commerce Horizon was conducted with much zeal and enthusiasm by the teachers and the students alike. All the competitions, programs and activities were conducted in a very disciplined manner and with active participation of the students. The winners from every competition were awarded with a cash prize and Certificate.
