Workshops, Guest Lectures and Activities Conducted by the Department

  • A guest Lecture on Goal Setting was conducted on 27th December 2022 by Dr. Dipti Tulpule in A.V. Room for BBA and BBA IB Students. Dr. Tulpule explained the goal setting concept and process to the students. She conducted various activities to understand distractions in life and how to develop focus. She also explained the importance of a personal SWOT analysis in Goal Setting.
  • A guest lecture on “21st Century Skills for Holistic Development” organized on 28th April, 2023, Mr. Vivek Sawant, Chief Mentor, Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited (MKCL), was invited as guest for national Level Kaveri Skills Fest 2022-23. Mr. Vivek Sawant in his presentation told the audience about the emerging importance of the “Green Collar Jobs” and he also made students aware about career opportunities in “Green Collar Area”.
  • B.B.A. department along with the Commerce Department organized ‘A Seminar on Career Opportunities in Banking and Finance’ on 20 December 2018. The session was conducted by Mr. Vinit Upadhyay, from PU’s Educational Services that serves as an educational service provider.
  • A SEBI initiative ‘INVEST TO CREATE WEALTH’- the simple way; was conducted for the students of B.B.A. and B.B.A. (IB). Resource person Mr. Sandeep Sahasrabuddhe created awareness among the students for savings and investment at an early stage of life for a better and a safe future.
  • 5 students from T.Y.B.B.A. carried out a consultancy project assigned by Kannada Sangha Pune regarding tuition classes in Pune. The title of the consultancy project was ‘Parent opinion Survey – Academic Coaching classes’. The students collected data and analyzed the data of more than 2000 parents of students of Kaveri Group of Institutes.
  • The 9th Paper Presentation Competition in Commerce and Management was conducted on 23 January 2018. The topics were: Innovative Entrepreneurship, Bitcoin-to be or not to be?, One Nation, One Tax : GST, Modern Payment Systems
  • Idea Generation Camp was conducted for undergraduate students of all colleges in Pune on 24 January 2018. The camp was conducted in association with Business Ethics Foundation and Board of Student Development, SPPU. The objective of the camp was to train students to recognize, understand and generate business ideas and to evaluate those ideas with feasibility criteria.
  • A guest lecture on GST was conducted by CA Subodh Shah on 31 January 2018 for students of B.B.A. and B.B.A. (IB) classes. Mr. Shah explained the background, structure and procedures of GST implementation in India. He elaborated on GST filing as well.
  • Four students namely Waman Jahagirdar, Sandeep Yadav, Parag Ambre and Vikas Chauhan attended a one day workshop on ‘Investor Awareness and Financial Planning’ organized by Bagul Investments Pvt. Ltd. on 18 November 2017 at Hotel Deccan Royale. The workshop was about financial planning, financial modeling and investment strategies.
  • Department of Commerce and Management organized a National workshop on ‘Financial Planning, Market and Investors’ Awareness’ in Association with BSE Investor Protection Fund on 12 January 2019. The programme received huge responses from all over India and over 500 participants registered from Academics and Industry. Dignitaries from of SPPU, BSE-IPF Limited, Mumbai, , ICAICAMA, and NISM, Navi Mumbai, ICAI, New Delhi attended the event.
  • Four students from F.Y.B.B.A. are worked on a consultancy project assigned to them for Digital Marketing of the products of Mrs. Sunita Shroff. Mrs. Shoff is a leading designer of woven and printed fabrics, dupattas, hand crafted quilts, table mats and tote bags.
  • T.Y.B.B.A. (IB) Students attended guest lecture on ‘What World Expects From India?’ The lecture was conducted by Mr. Aniruddha Rajput, Member of United Nations International Law Commission and Chairman Drafting Committee organized by BMCC on 9 January 2019.
  • A session on BSE Capital Market Awareness was organized by the Department on 3 August 2018 for the second and third year students of B.B.A. and B.B.A. (IB). The session was conducted by renowned columnist in Economics and Finance Prof. Virendra
  • Basic Business Idea Generation workshop was organized under B.B.A. club on 25 January 2019 .The objective of the workshop was to make the student understand the process of generating the business idea and to check its validity and feasibility. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Pallavi Kasande, Asst. Professor in Management.
  • T.Y.B.B.A. and T.Y.B.B.A. (IB) students have attended Hindustan Times workshop for placements and internship opportunities on 28 January at MMCOE, Karve Nagar, Pune.
  • Some of HR specialization students of T.Y.B.B.A. attended an informative Session on ‘Proposed Labour Code’ conducted by Adv. Shriniwas Inamati, Director, Deccan Management Consultancy and a knowledge sharing session on Design Thinking for HR professionals by Ms. Swati Karve, OD Consultant and Teacher. The programme was organized by MCCIA-NIPM-ISTD forum at MCCIA Trade Tower, Pune
  • Department of Bachelor of Business Administration conducted 7th Inter College Paper Presentation Competition on 8th February 2016.
  • The department of B.B.A. conducted a Lecture on Capital Market Awareness in association with BSE (IPF) for students to create awareness on investing.

B.B.A. Club

The B.B.A. Club is an in house discovery for honing the soft and hard skills of business management students. The B.B.A. club is a fun filled activity for applying management concepts in simulated situation. Following activities are conducted under the B.B.A. Club. National Level Business Fest 2021

  • The BBA and BBA IB Department organised 4 days National Level (Virtual) Business Fest 2021 in association with MTC Global and Global Entrepreneurs Grid Bangalore from 6th to 9th December 2021. It received huge response from junior colleges, graduation colleges and post graduation colleges from different parts of India like Karnataka, Kerala, Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, New Delhi, Maharashtra, etc. This fest was an excellent opportunity for the students to learn, participate and deliberate on business related matters.
  • A Session on The Choke Points of Power and The Master Keys that Control World Trade by Mr. Praful Talera, Co – Founder of Dynamic Logistics on 31 October 2020. The session identified 11 choke points in international logistics and its geo-political influences on the entire world. He narrated anecdotes on geographical and cultural implications of these choke points in sea transport.
  • A Session on Personal Analysis and Goal Setting was organized for BBA, BBA IB and BBA(CA) students on 12 September 2020. The session was conducted by Aishwarya Paranjpe, Clinical Psychologist.  The first part of the session focused on personal goal setting and the second part was on strategies to manage time.
  • A Session on ‘How to identify Research Topics in Commerce and Management’ was conducted on 19 September 2020 by Rashmi Hebalkar, Founder Director of Prabodhan Management Consultancy and Research for TY BBA and TY BBA IB students.. The session focused on cultivating a curious attitude and highlighted the scientific process of selecting the research topic using a drill down approach.
  • Pune City Level Business Fest 2020 was conducted for three days from 27 January to 29 January, 2020 having various sessions like ‘Idea Generation Workshop, Business Success Stories session, Business Failure Stories session, Research Paper Exhibition, Business Attire Presentation and Intercollegiate competitions like Business Plan competition, Innovative Product poster competition, Marathon Management games competition for the undergraduate students of all courses and streams.
  • A workshop on ‘Design Thinking’ was organized on 24 December, 2019.  Total 43 students from BBA and BBA(IB) attended the workshop. The resource person was Archana Pingle, Principal Facilitator & consultant from Winstar Consulting. The program is aligned with Stanford University D-school curriculum and customized with Indian case studies and context.
