Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Art, Science and Commerce, in association with Lions Club International had organized a Diabetes Awareness and Organ Donation program on 19th November 2023 at Taljai Hills, Pune.
NSS Program Officer Prof. Nilesh Nemade, NSS Assistant Program Officer Prof. Sujata Bachhav, Dr. Anand Buddhikot and other faculties were present for this program, more than 200 students of the college attended the program. Students actively participated in various activities conducted by the club. College students, athletes, diabetic patients, doctors, eminent citizens from various fields and Lions Club members participated in the awareness rally.
Dr. Chandrahas Shetty-Trustee, Kannada Sangha Pune, and the convener of 20th Lions World Diabetes Day Awareness and Organ Donation Program-2023 successfully organized and fulfilled the main objective of the program.
MLA. Madhuri Misal gave her insights and told about the importance of diabetes and Organ donation. People were motivated to donate organs by creating public awareness for organ donation by lions club members. Demonstration of CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) was also given on this occasion.
Club members who had worked in the field of awareness and helping the needy people were also awarded for their contribution. Lion Sarita Sonawale was awarded on this occasion for her immense contribution.
Activities like zumba were also conducted with a message to live a stress-free life in the online era. Citizens also took advantage of a free health check-up facility provided by the club at the program.
Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal and Vice Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar motivated everyone on this occasion.
