An industrial visit to Katraj Dairy, Pune, was organized by BBA, BBA(IB) department of Kaveri College, to provide students with practical exposure to the operations of a large-scale dairy processing unit. The objective of this visit was to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world industrial practices, especially in the field of food processing and supply chain management. The objectives of the visit to understand the milk collection and procurement process from farmers. To study the processing, pasteurization, and packaging techniques used in the dairy industry. To gain knowledge about quality control measures and hygiene standards maintained in dairy production. To understand the cold chain and distribution system of dairy products. To explore career and entrepreneurial opportunities in the dairy sector.
Students gained practical insight into the functioning of a dairy industry. They understood the significance of maintaining hygiene and quality in food production. They learned about advanced machinery used for milk processing and packaging. The visit helped students relate classroom knowledge of supply chain, quality control, and production management to real operations.
