Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune, in association with Savitribai Phule Pune University, organized the Inter Zonal Athletic Meet 2024-25 on 24th and 25th October 2024 in the Khashaba Jadhav Sports Complex in the Savitribai Phule Pune University.
The event consisted of participants from four zones- Ahmednagar, Nasik, Pune District and Pune City. The matches began as per schedule on day 1. Events like 100M Run, 200M Run, Relay, Hurdles, Shot Put, Discuss Throw, Javelin Throw, Decathlon, etc for Men and Women were held during this competition. Top performers of the tournament were selected as a part of the SPPU Team for the West Zone Inter- University Tournament.
The Inter Zonal Athletic Meet inauguration function was held in the evening of the first day. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries including Hon. Mr.Kushal Hegde – President Kannada Sangha Pune, Malati Kalmadi – Secretary Kannada Sangha Pune, Hon. Vice Chancellor SPPU Dr. Suresh Gosavi, Pro Vice Chancellor SPPU Dr. Parag Kalkar, Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Director Quality Assurance- Dr. Jayashri Bangali. Mr Rohit Tambe, Director of Physical Education. Kaveri College hosted the event. Staff members Dr. Anand Buddhikot, Dr. Pooja Ambole, and Ms. Eesha Joshi were also present. Additionally, Tushar, Nilesh, and Gaurav contributed to the event’s success. The inauguration function officially commenced the athletic meet.
