The event featured a session on “Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking” led by Mr. Satish Singh, Founder and CEO of Sysap Technologies. With the increasing reliance on technology, it aims to equip students with essential skills to protect themselves from online threats like hacking, phishing, and identity theft. The event covers topics like secure internet usage, password management, and recognizing online frauds. Mr. Singh provided a live demonstration on online scams, data hacking, and phishing, offering valuable insights into maintaining online safety. He further said Hackers often target IP addresses to track devices and launch attacks. One crucial step in preventing such attacks is to avoid clicking on suspicious online links, which can be gateways for hackers to gain unauthorized access to systems. Additionally, sim locking systems can help protect mobile devices from unauthorized network access, reducing the risk of hacking through phone numbers. Restricting external memory cards ensures that sensitive data isn’t easily transferable or accessed through removable storage. For strong account security, passwords should always include a combination of alphabets, numbers, and special characters to make them harder to crack. Employing these security practices helps strengthen defenses against cyber threats. The session was highly informative and well-received by all attendees.
In addition to the awareness session, the Kaveri Cyber Carnival was inaugurated by Incharge Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar and Mr.Satish Singh. The Carnival upholds 12 unique stalls including food and cyber security-themed games set up in the stilts. Overall, the Kaveri Cyber Carnival was a complete success. Around 1000 students participated in the Carnival and was greatly appreciated by all attendees.
