On 24 September 2022, the NSS Foundation Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the NSS Department of Kannada Sangha’s Kaveri Arts, Science and Commerce College. Students celebrated this day by voluntarily cleaning the grounds and premises of the college spreading the message of cleanliness. Program Officer of NSS Department Prof. Nilesh Nemade, Assistant Program Officer Prof. Sujata Bachhao and all NSS volunteers participated in this cleanliness drive.
A special lecture on “Role of NSS in Development of Social and Human Ethical Values” was organized for the students on this occasion. Dr. Shivaji Pacharane-District Coordinator of NSS Department was invited as the guest speaker. Principal Dr.Ashok Agarwal and Vice-Principal Dr.Mukta Karmarkar graced the occasion with their presence. On the occasion of NSS Foundation they motivated the students for social work. Prof. Sujata Bachhav compered the program and in her address, explained the importance, concept and motivation behind NSS Day to the students.
Chief Guest Dr. Shivaji Pacharane, while interacting with the students, introduced the concept of ‘National Service Scheme’ as ‘Education and Service’. He explained the significant role of social work done through NSS in all round development of a student by giving different examples. He explained in detail what a volunteer should learn through various surveys and activities conducted in NSS and how one must apply these things in day to day life. He also briefed the students about various activities, schemes and camps conducted by the NSS department at the college, university level. Prof. Sujata Bachhav presented the Vote of Thanks.
