The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce organized a cleanliness drive at Parvati Hill, Pune, 1st October 2024 as part of the “Swachhata Hi Seva” Campaign. This initiative aimed to clean one of the city’s most beloved historical and spiritual sites, known for its temples and stunning panoramic views of Pune. NSS Program Officer Mr. Nilesh Nemade inspired volunteers to understand the significance of cleanliness in their lives and encouraged them to take action towards fostering cleaner, healthier environments.
During the drive, volunteers cleaned the entire stretch of the hill, collecting litter, leaves, and plastic waste. They segregated the collected waste into biodegradable and non-biodegradable materials. Additionally, volunteers engaged with visitors and residents to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining cleanliness in public spaces. In all 74 NSS volunteers took active participation in this drive.
