The Kaveri Group of Institutes, in collaboration with the Pune International Marathon Trust, successfully hosted the Pune International Kids Gen Alfa Marathon 2025 on 12th January 2025 at the Kaveri College Campus. This grand event turned into a vibrant celebration of health, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship, drawing an impressive participation of over 2,325 young runners. With its central focus on encouraging fitness and a healthy lifestyle among children, the marathon stood as a shining example of community-driven sporting spirit.
The marathon was thoughtfully categorized according to age groups, ensuring fair competition and enthusiastic participation. The race distances ranged from 5 km for under-20 participants to 1 km for under-12, while the under-10 group enjoyed a fun 1 km run alongside their parents, emphasizing the importance of family bonding through fitness. This inclusive structure made the event accessible and enjoyable for children across age brackets while instilling the spirit of friendly competition.
The event began with a 6:30 AM flag-off ceremony, led by esteemed dignitaries including Mrs. Malati Kalmadi, Secretary of Kaveri Group of Institutes, Mr. Abhay Chajjed, Trustee and Treasurer at Pune International Marathon Trust and Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Principal of Kaveri College. Their presence added a touch of prestige and encouragement, inspiring the young participants to perform at their best and enjoy the marathon experience.
The event was marked by exceptional coordination and enthusiastic support. With proper medical aid, hydration stations, security, and a large team of volunteers, the organizers ensured a safe and seamless experience for all participants.
