Rainbow – Kaveri Arts Festival

A colourful display of activities was showcased during Rainbow – Kaveri Arts Festival. Objective of the festival was to create fun filled learning experience for the students.

Do It Yourself:

Conducted on 3 February 2020 DIY or Do It Yourself was a part of Rainbow -Kaveri Arts Festival. As there are three specialisation subjects that are offered under the Faculty of Arts in the college there were three activities based on the subjects viz. English, Psychology and Economics. 
Writer’s Den – a story writing activity was organised by the Department of English. The participants were asked to write a story based on two themes – suspense thriller and tragic love story; time limit of 45 minutes was set and word limit of about 750 to 1000 words was given. The winners of this activity are Sakshi Birla (1st) and Shirin Bhanapurwala (2nd) from TY BA
Blindfold Challenge, conducted by Department of Psychology, witnessed a learning and entertaining atmosphere. In this challenge the participants were blindfolded and asked to think of an emotion and try to draw it on a white board in 45 seconds and the audience will try to guess the emotion. The winners of this activity are Pranita Kashilkar (1st) from F.Y. B.Sc. (CS) and Aastha Ramchandani (2nd) from SY BA
 Mock Stock activity was conducted byDepartment of Economics. In this activity the participants were teamed up in groups of 3. A base amount was to be imagined and stocks were to be bought in the first round. In the subsequent rounds the participants had to trade with each other as the prices of the stocks rise and fall in each round after display of some news created for the game for the participants to anticipate their profits and trade accordingly. There were three rounds in all. The winners of the activity are Parth Mondkar (TY Bom.), Shreyas Potbhare and Gaurav Marne from FY B.Com. (1st) and Aastha Ramchandani, Archit Kulkarni from SY BA and Ayush Jain from SY B.Com (2nd).

 Poster Display Competition – Theme-based Poster Display Competition was held on 3 February 2020. Participants displayed and narrated their art work based on three themes namely, Trends in Literature, Feelings and Emotions and Economic Growth and Sustainability. The First Prize in Trends in Literature went to Renuka Veer and group from FY B.Sc. (CS)and Second Prize was won by Umang Tadphale from FY BA. Whereas Prajwal Raodeo and group from FY BA won the First Prize and Aishwarya Joshi and group won the Second Prize in Feelings and Emotions. The First Prize in Economic Growth and Sustainability went to Shivani Shede from FY BBA-CA and Smital Doijad and group won the Second Prize. The competition was judged by Ms. Amrapali Aurangabadkar, Asst. Prof. in English, Siddhivinayak College, Pune, Ms. Sonal Bavadekar, Psychotherapist and Clinical Psychologist and Ms. Padmashri Mujumdar, Asst. Prof. in Economics, Modern College, Shivajinagar, Pune

Career Guidance Workshop in Arts 

On 4 February 2020 as a part of Rainbow -Kaveri Arts Festival, One Day Career Guidance Workshop in Arts was conducted by the Faculty of Arts.

The objective of the programme was to give participants awareness regarding various study and career avenues available to pursue. The first resource speaker for the workshop was Mr Alhad Kulkarni from Jnyan Prabodhini, Pune spoke about careers in arts in general and guided on how one should go ahead with the research several career prospects. Dr Ishita Ghoshal, Asst. Prof. In Economics, Fergusson College, Pune spoke on career options in Economics like journalism, data analysis etc. Mrs Surekha Pandit, Consultant Psychologist, Pune spoke on careers in Psychology and what qualities a psychologist should have. Dr Alka Kamble, HoD, English, Modern College, Pune interacted with participants on the range of careers as a language professional and the importance of having proficiency in both spoken and written English. She told how language binds everything together and plays a significant role in each field. 67 students benefitted from the programme.
