Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts,Science and Commerce conducted a Special NSS camp at Kasar Amboli,Taluka Mulshi Dist:Pune from 13th March 2023 to 19th March 2023. “Youth Passion, Village City Development ” was the motto of the camp.
The camp was inaugurated on 14th March 2023. At the inauguration of the camp, Dr. Muckta Karmarkar motivated the students to participate in social work with disciplined behavior. She also said to keep it in mind that while doing any work, we are volunteers, and we are a part of the family and the Kaveri College. She also thanked Kasar Amboli Gram Panchayat and members and the villagers for their cooperation over the years and appreciated the students for the contribution of Kaveri College in the overall development of the Kasar Amboli village.
Under this special camp the NSS volunteers undertook post covid survey in the village, along with this, free health camp was organized where in the facility to check blood pressure, sugar test and blood test was made available to the villagers. Awareness drive about a plastic free environment and harmful effects of tobacco was held in the village. NSS volunteers put efforts for environment awareness, cleanliness drive and tree conservation. During the camp, many guest lectures on various topics were organized for NSS volunteers. Dr. Anand Buddhikot guided on the topic “NSS and today’s youth”. Mrs. Sujata Bachhav conducted a session on “Importance of Goal setting and its Planning”. Prof. Kiran Suryavanshi also discussed on the topic “Financial Planning for youth”. He also elaborated on the importance of time management, financial savings, and financial needs. Awareness towards HIV Aids was initiated by Dr. Shweta Sathe. Programme Officer Prof. Nilesh Nemade advised the students on Confidence Building. Shri.Shirish Lavate from Manavya Trust also contributed to the confidence building of students. For building the mental and physical health of students, various outdoor sports were held. Kirtan of Hari Bhakt Parayan Shri. Dashrath Maharaj Vahale was organized at Vadeshwar Temple in the village. He delivered a lecture on “Today’s students and Philosophy”. Students also participated in Balidan Mass. Shivkanya Shraddha Tai Shinde was also present at the event. She narrated the history of Shri Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Shri Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and appealed to students to preserve the culture. Survey of the Self-Help groups for women (Bachat Gat) was conducted during the camp. Also, all women from the village enthusiastically participated in the Haldi Kumkum function organized for them.
The valedictory programme of the camp was held on 19th March 2023. Principal Dr. Ashok Agrwal extended special guidance for the camp. Mrs. Radha Rajwas the Chief guest for the Valedictory function. Vice principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, sarpanch shri Swapnil Shinde, Village Development officer Mr. Dhanraj Kshirsagar along with gram panchayat member Mrs. Chayatai Dilare, Shri Shankar Sutar, Shri Umesh Sutar and villagers were present for the camp valedictory function. Mrs Radha tai Raj provided information on various village development programmes. She also focused on the importance of farming and encouraged the setting up of an institute similar to the Agriculture Science Centre in the villages. Vice Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar congratulated the students and praised the efforts taken by them in executing the programmes. NSS P.O.Prof.Nilesh Nemade and APO Prof. Sujata Bachhav successfully organized the programme and guided the students.
