The NSS Unit of Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune organized an awareness programme under the “TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” – “Tuberculosis-Free India Campaign” on Friday 17th October 2025 at the college campus. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about tuberculosis, its prevention, and the importance of maintaining a healthy and drug-free lifestyle. As part of this campaign, various competitions such as Drawing, Elocution, and Essay Writing were organized to encourage students to express their ideas creatively.
The Drawing Competition included themes like “Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life,” “Be Smart, Don’t Start,” “Drug-Free India: Our Dream, Our Duty,” and “Drug-Free India Campaign.” Participants showcased their artistic skills by creating meaningful posters promoting health awareness and the importance of a drug-free society.
The Elocution Competition featured topics such as “Drug-Free India Campaign” and “Thoughts of Today’s Youth,” where participants confidently expressed their views on the role of youth in building a healthy and responsible nation.
In the Essay Writing Competition, students presented thoughtful writings on the theme “Drug-Free India Campaign,” emphasizing the need for awareness, prevention, and healthy living.
An awareness session conducted by the NSS Programme Officer provided valuable information about tuberculosis, its symptoms, preventive measures, and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment. Posters and banners on TB awareness, drug prevention, and healthy habits were displayed throughout the campus to reinforce the campaign’s message.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from students across various departments, who actively contributed through their creativity and commitment. The programme successfully fulfilled its objectives by educating students about TB prevention, promoting a drug-free lifestyle, and inspiring social responsibility. It reflected the true spirit of the NSS motto — “Not Me, But You.”
On this occasion, Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Principal and Dr. Anand Buddhikot, Vice Principal appreciated the sincere efforts of the students and the NSS team in organizing the programme successfully. The event was conducted smoothly under the able guidance of NSS Programme Officer Mr. Nilesh Nemade.
