In a vibrant celebration of literature and knowledge, Kaveri Knowledge Resource Center observed Vachan Prerana Din (Reading Inspiration Day) with a series of events aimed at fostering a love for reading among students and staff. The event is held annually to commemorate the birth anniversary of former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. It encourages the habit of reading as a way to gain wisdom, broaden horizons, and fuel the imagination.
At the beginning of the program, the Principal of Kaveri College, Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, saluted Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s photo. “Books are not just a source of knowledge but a window to the world.”, said the Principal.
As part of the celebration, Kaveri Knowledge Resource Center organized various activities including:
One Day, One Book: Unleash the power of Reading
Encouraging students and staff to dedicate a day to reading a complete book, aiming to rekindle the reading habit.
Silence Please, Kaverians are Reading: Read Together, Grow Together
A silent reading session where students and staff united in the simple act of reading, demonstrating the power of collective knowledge and learning.
Reader’s Wall: Inspired, Read and Succeed
A special space was set up where students posted their favourite quotes from books they love, along with their reflections on how those books influenced them.
Students and faculty alike appreciated the initiative, emphasizing the need for more such events to keep the culture of reading alive. Vachan Prerana Din proved to be an inspiring day for the Kaveri College community, reinforcing the importance of reading as an essential habit for lifelong learning and personal development.
