The NSS unit of Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune celebrated 14th National Voters Day with full enthusiasm on 25th January 2024. The main objective of National Voters Day was to encourage, facilitate, and maximize enrolment, especially for new voters and also create awareness about the importance of voting in the democracy among the citizens.
Incharge Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Student Development Officer Dr. Shweta Bapat, Bsc(CS) Coordinator Dr. Anand Buddhikot, NSS Program Officer Mr. Nilesh Nemade were present.
Dr. Muckta Karmarkar in her address, informed students about the significance of every vote in democracy. On this occasion the badges given by the National Election Commission were distributed at the hands of Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, as a token of appreciation for registered voters.
Dr. Anand Buddhikot in his talk, focused on the theme of this year “Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure”. He also appealed to new voters to enroll their names for Voter ID. On this occasion a voter oath taking ceremony was conducted, the oath was read out by Mr. Nilesh Nemade.
