On the occasion of the 160th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Youth Day was celebrated by the National Service Scheme Department of Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, on January 12, 2023. The birth anniversary of Rajmata Jijau was also celebrated on this occasion. While saluting the image of both the great personalities, Principal Dr. Ashok Agarwal said that,” The birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda is celebrated every year on 12th January as ‘National Youth Day’. This day is dedicated to youth as National Youth Day. India is called the nation of youth. Swami Vivekananda was an Indian philosopher and reformer. Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts give right direction and inspiration to the youth. He devoted his entire life to social work. Today, there is also the birth anniversary of Rajmata Jijabai who moulded, the creator of Swarajya, the inspiration of all people – Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Because of Rajmata Jijau, the common people could see Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and swarajya.
The Vice Principal Dr. Mukta Karmarkar also guided the students. The Board of Student Development officer of the college Dr. Jayashri Bangali was also present for the event. Programme Officer Prof. Nilesh Nemade and Assistant Program Officer Prof. Sujata Bachhav motivated the volunteers. Volunteers in large numbers actively participated in the program.
